Harvest
HARVEST is a project inspired by the myth of Poludnica — Harvester of Souls, which belongs to the Slavic mythology. Poludnica is a mythical character common to the various Slavic countries of Eastern Europe.
Madness is a noon demon in Slavic mythology. In English it can be referred to as “Lady Medday”, “Nunwright” or “Noon Witch”. She was usually portrayed as a young woman walking along the edges of the field. She attacked field workers at noon causing heat stroke and neck pain, sometimes even causing insanity. She would stop people in the field to ask difficult questions or involve them in conversation.
If someone did not answer a question or tried to change the subject, she would cut off their head or strike them with an illness. She can appear as an old seagull, a beautiful woman or a 12-year-old girl and was useful for scaring children of valuable crops. She is seen only during the hottest part of the day and represents the personification of sunshine.
